Do you ever see a movie with your kids that you both just adore? I love finding movies that the whole family is crazy about!
A couple of months ago we took the little ones to see Inside Out and it has quickly become one of our favorites of all time. My little girl especially is just smitten with all the characters and tells me often what color represents which emotion. Red is for anger! Blue is for sadness!
So over the weekend we put our love for this movie into a craft! We made this adorable Inside Out Joy and Sadness craft from a cupcake liner!
Inside Out Joy and Sadness Cupcake Liner Craft
To make Sadness, you will need:
- A blue cupcake liner
- Paint: dark blue, black and white
Open the cupcake liner and use a glue stick to attach it to paper. I give it a few minutes to dry before I move on. Then, use a pencil to trace out the outline of the hair and the eyes. Use my example as a guide.
For her glasses, I used a shot glass dipped in paint. You can also use a toilet paper roll which in hindsight might have worked a bit better.
To make Joy, you will need:
- A yellow cupcake liner
- Paint: light blue/turqoise, pink, white, black
- Pink Sharpie
Just like sadness, start by drawing the outline with a pencil. Then, paint! After her mouth was dry, I outlined it with a pink Sharpie marker.
If you don’t want to paint, you could use markers or even cut out pieces of construction paper and use that. This was really a fun craft to create with the kids. We just love cupcake liner crafts!
