The DIY hard water cleaner I’m about to share with you is my honest to goodness miracle worker. I’m not kidding. We have such hard water where we live and it’s a nightmare. When I don’t use this to clean hard water stains on my shower doors every week or so, they’re incredibly cloudy and ugly.
The hard water stains, the soap scum… it’s more than I can stand.
Just look at this disgusting shower door in my downstairs bathroom. Doesn’t it make you want to stop what you’re doing and clean it right now?
So, want to know the main ingredient for this amazing miracle cleaner?
WHITE VINEGAR! As far as I’m concerned, vinegar is one of the most amazing things we have at our disposal to clean things well.
Although you are welcome to use half vinegar and half water to clean your hard water stains, I do something a little extra. But, when I’m done? I use this Lemon Cleaner on all my bathroom and kitchen surfaces.
The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries and you’re left with only a mild hint of clean citrus. I’m mad for it.
You’ll need a glass jar, the peels from some lemons, and white vinegar.
Drop your lemon peels (I like orange peels just as well) in your jar to the half way mark, and pour vinegar to fill up the jar. I also give a little twist of lemon juice as well. Put the lid on it and store it in a cabinet where it’s good and dark and let it sit for two weeks. Each day give it a shake.
After the two weeks, strain the peels out of the vinegar, pour it in a squirt bottle and add water to fill the bottle.
For hard water stains all you have to do is spray it on liberally and let it sit for a couple minutes. Wipe it down with a paper towel or cloth and you’ll be amazed. Crystal clear! If your hard water stains are really stubborn, make a paste from baking soda & your cleaner and use that the same way.
Use this amazing cleaner on your tub, sink, shower, and even glass. I love it so much and I hope you will, too!
