Quite awhile ago I picked up a little Goodwill treasure that was so unfortunate looking. I wish I had taken before photos. It was a dark wood pedestal fruit bowl. They were pretty common back in the day.
This one was .99, and I couldn’t pass it up. Today I decided to have a little fun with it.
I painted it, distressed it with a sandpaper block, and gave it a coat of Mod Podge. Then I opened up Word and typed “No. 7” in a font I liked and printed it.
I taped the paper to the painted surface, took a Sharpie pen and traced the text, pushing into the wood just a bit so there would be a slight indentation. After I removed the paper I filled in the outline with the Sharpie.
Why “No. 7”? Because it’s my favorite number, of course!
We just got back from two weeks in St. Pete, Florida, so I had oodles of sea shells. I decided to paint a few of them in pretty colors and mix them in with the rest of the shells. I really like the way they turned out!
