I am a devoted iced coffee fan and I have been for years. I always prefer it over hot coffee, even in winter. Iced coffee is easier on my stomach than hot because of the acid. Having also been a fan of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee for a long time, I decided to make my own DIY Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee here at home. Be warned… it’s amazing!
I used this cold brew iced coffee recipe from Kitchen Treaty. It’s so easy and as far as I’m concerned, the best way to make really great iced coffee concentrate.
Essentially you use 1 cup of coffee grounds per 4 cups water, cover it & let it sit for 8 to 12 hours. I didn’t grind beans the way she does, but opted instead for the ground coffee because #lazy. 🙂
I let my coffee concoction sit for around 8 hours before straining and I was worried I may have made it too weak. So, when I poured some of the coffee concentrate in my glass of ice the next morning, I used a full half glass.
DON’T BE FOOLED! This iced coffee concentrate is hard core! 🙂 My heart was pounding out of my chest from all the caffeine!
Now I fill only about 1/4 of my glass with the concentrate, then I fill it almost to the top with water and stir in my incredibly rich & delish Dunkin’ Donuts Caramel Creamer.
I promise you, it’s so good. Now I wake up to yummy iced coffee every morning and I couldn’t be happier about it. A big thank you to Kitchen Treaty for showing us all how easy it is to do!
Do you have amazing iced coffee recipes? I can’t be the only one who prefers it over hot coffee… can I?
PS: Dunkin’ Donuts did not pay me to write this post. But, I think we can all agree I should get at least a month’s supply of coffee for singing their praises. Right? 😉
